A family of seven building something brave

We’re Not On The Road… Yet.

Four Seats, One Dream didn’t begin with a bus.

It began with a decision.

We are a family of seven in a unique season of life. Our three oldest are stepping into their own independence — building careers, chasing their own dreams, and learning who they are becoming.

At the same time, our younger two — our 17-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son — are walking closely with us in this next chapter.

We aren’t traveling full-time yet.

We are building toward it.

Our goal is simple and bold:
January 1, 2027 — we hit the road.

This Is The Building Year

Right now, we are in what we call “the work season.”

During the week, we work.

We work our jobs.
We work on our house.
We work on downsizing.
We work on paying things off.
We work on ourselves.

We are preparing financially, emotionally, and practically for the life we believe we’re meant to build.

This isn’t an impulsive dream.
It’s a disciplined one.

But We Refuse To Wait To Live

We made one decision early on:

We will not wait until 2027 to start living differently.

So our weekends are sacred.

The weekends are for adventure — on a budget.

We kayak.
We bicycle.
We hike.
We explore new towns.
We use the memberships we already have — the Tennessee Aquarium, the Chattanooga Zoo, our National Parks pass.

We slow down.

We practice being the family we want to be now.

Because this journey isn’t just about travel — it’s about who we are becoming before we ever leave the driveway.

Why We’re Doing This

As our older kids spread their wings, we realized something:

We don’t want to drift through these final years with our younger two.

We want presence.
Intention.
Faith-led decisions.
Shared experiences.
Courage modeled out loud.

We want to show our children that big dreams don’t happen overnight — they are built one disciplined choice at a time.

The “four seats” represents the core of this traveling chapter — the four of us preparing to live daily life on the road.

But the dream belongs to all seven of us.

This is a family expanding into the next season — not escaping one.

We are not running from life.
We are designing it.
